Explore the hidden secrets of the Mystery Cave, a natural cave created by water action against the limestone, shale, sandstone and other sedimentary rock walls of the cave. Mystery cave is also the longest cave system in the state of Minnesota. You can also find several natural rock formations and sinkholes inside the Driftless Area, a popular region in the park.

For birdwatchers and wildlife photographers, the state park is home to various flora and fauna such as the rare glacial snails and timber rattlesnakes. Other animals include the common forest animals such as raccoons, squirrels, foxes, beavers and deers. Visitors can also camp, fish, hike, horseback ride, and bike in and around the permitted regions of the park.
