Fish lovers will find enjoyment in the company of their water friends at the Great Lakes Aquarium. It is located in a three-floor building complex in Duluth, Minnesota, right at the shores of Lake Superior. The complex features numerous large and small tanks. It opened on July 29, 2000 after three and half years of construction, that cost $34 million.

The Aquarium measures a total of 62,000 square feet. Its main exhibits feature fish and other inhabitants of the Lake Superior basin. The aquarium has exhibits from other places such as specimen samples from the St. Louis River, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Isle Royale, Kakagon Slough, and Baptism River. The first floor of the aquarium contains exhibits such as the Seahorse Secrets, Wow of Water, Learning Labs, Behind the Scenes, and Lake Superior Deep Water Benthic Explorer. The second floor on the other hand showcases Uplands, Isle Royale, and the Cafeteria.
