The Museum of Russian Art is the only kind in its country, with its central focus on the collection, preservation, and promotion of Russian art and all other types of artifacts. The museum is definitely one of the best places to visit to learn not just of Russian art but also the country?s mysterious and fascinating culture and history. Besides its permanent exhibits, the museum also regularly serves as a venue for other exhibitions that are all originally curated by its staff. Indeed, many of the museum?s exhibits feature artworks that one would rarely glimpse in other museums in the U.S.

The museum first opened its doors in 2005, thanks to the generous donation of the Honorary Consul to Raymond Johnson of the Russian Federation. It was through their aid that the masterful restoration of a historic Spanish Revival building was completed and which successfully converted the structure into a modern museum facility.

A trip to the museum would not be complete without a visit to its in-site gift store, The Izba. Here, visitors may shop for wonderful treasures from Russia that include but aren?t limited to icons and saints, Russian lacquer art, and tea sets.
