The Runestone Museum invites its visitors to take a look and experience its historic Alexandria tour where they can have their photo taken with the biggest Viking in the country and marvel at the Kensington Runestone.

Visitors to the Museum will get to be enlightened on the history through the exhibition on Norse history, the Native American exhibit, the Minnesota Wildlife display, the display of early pioneer life, and the hands-on children?s area. They can also visit Fort Alexandria and take a look at its authentic log buildings as well as 1880 country school house, and view the forty-foot Viking ship, the Snorri. Changing displays are also showcased each season that focuses on tools and farm equipment that were used by the early generations.

The Museum?s exhibits depict the life of the Pioneers in the 1900?s to 1920?s.

The Runestone Gift Shop features souvenirs about Minnesota and Alexandria, Viking and runestone information, t-shirts, books, Viking helmets, swords, and other unique gifts. Most of these are made by local artists, craftsmen, and authors.
