The Science Museum of Minnesota describes itself as the #1 favorite museum in the state and they may just be right. The museum?s collections and exhibits are not only fascinating but designed to be kid-friendly as well. An example of this would be the King Tut exhibition area, which features many unique and interesting artifacts during Egyptian times and is complemented with a viewing of the film Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaoh. Indeed, one of the most popular attractions of the museum is no doubt its dome-shaped omnitheater, which plays a wide variety of educational and entertaining programs daily. The museum also holds several popular programs and workshops regularly, such as Senior Tuesdays, Student-ID-ology, and Preschool Playdates.

Also available at the site is the Garden Cam, where visitors may view the garden jointly managed by the museum and the National Park Service through real-time web cams. For those spending the entire day at the museum, there?s no need to worry about having to travel afar for a meal as the museum has three in-site dining areas for you to choose from. The 6th floor Elements Caf? is best known for offering light meals and views of the Mississippi River. Coffee and desserts can be enjoyed at the Java Lab while Chomp serves kid-friendly dishes like pretzels and hotdogs.
