The construction of Valleyfair began in 1974, when two businessmen decided they should build an amusement park that would bring entertainment to the families living in the city. The park opened to the public in 1976 and included several roller coaster rides and other attractions. Valleyfair added new rides each year since its completion and is now considered as the largest amusement park in the Midwest, featuring 8 breathtaking roller coasters, with Wild Thing and Cork Screw as the leading rides. Another one of its highlights is the Soak City Waterpark, formerly known as Whitewater Country. The name of the waterpark was changed later on when Breaker Bay was added in 2009.
Valleyfair is owned by Cedar Fair Entertainement Company and operates daily.
