Borroum’s Drug Store is the oldest drug store in Mississippi that is still in operation today. It was founded in 1865 and not much has changed in the place, may it be its architecture, location, or interiors. It still even has a working soda fountain inside.
Aside from the chance to visit a commercial establishment that has been open for roughly a century and a half, Borroum’s Drug Store is also a mini-museum in its own right. On display are Native American artifacts, Civil War memorabilia, and antique medicine bottles. With the soda fountain still in service, Borroum’s Drug Store is still able to serve “traditional” drinks like malted milks, ice cream sodas, cherry phosphates, and old fashioned coke.
Borroum’s Drug Store is a listed local Historic place in Mississippi.
