Ah, the relaxing groove of blues music. If you want to learn the history of this music genre, what better place to visit than the birthplace of blues itself ? the state of Mississippi.

The Delta Blues Museum, located at Clarksdale, Mississippi, aims to collect, preserve, showcase and promote to the music-loving public the history of blues. The museum holds several blues-related memorabilia, photos and artifacts. One of its most notable exhibits is the actual shack where blues legend Muddy Waters lived. It exhibits and collects art related to blues tradition, like the works of sculptor Floyd Shaman. The museum also holds year-round music education programs, as well as forums and lectures.

The Museum is situated in the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Passenger Depot, also known as Clarksdale Passenger Depot, a 1995 National Historic Landmark.
