Promoted as a part of Mississippi?s literary heritage site, the Eudora Welty House is a National Historic Landmark as of 2004 and a Mississippi Landmark as of 2001. Home to the famous author, Eudora Welty for almost eighty years, the property can really say a lot about the writer.

The Eudora Welty House was built in 1925 by Welty?s parents. Her bedroom is located on the second floor of the building, and it is where she did all of her writing. She is also the one who developed and cared for the garden.

Now owned by the State of Mississippi, the house and garden are open today as a museum. It is managed and restored with the help of the Eudora Welty Foundation.
