Steampunk enthusiasts and history buffs will find a common ground at the Soul? Steam Feed Works in Meridian, Mississippi. This is a historic business district that was founded in 1891 by George Soul?, a prominent inventor and businessman during the 19th century. The district is known for the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum and as well as the Soul? Live Steam Festival.

George Wilberforce Soul? was the founder of the business district. He had over 40 patents in his name, including the Cotton Seed Huller and a modified sugar mill. The Industrial Heritage Museum contains memorabilia and artifacts during the 19th century. It is also the venue of the yearly Live Steam Festival. The ?steam show? began on October 2003. It is a grand showcase of steam engine history and technology. It is the only show of its kind that is held inside an actual steam engine factory.
