The Stanton Hall was constructed during 1851-1957 for Frederick Stanton after making a fortune as a cotton broker. A chartered ship reportedly was used from Europe to transport molding, marble fireplace mantles and other building materials and furnishing to the construction site. The Stanton Hall operated as a historic house museum by the Pilgrimage Garden Club and occupies a full block of High Street between Pearl and Commerce streets in Natchez.
The Stanton hall or also known as Belfast was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974 and was declared a Mississippi Landmark in 1955. The Mansion inspired as a design for Disneyland?s Haunted Mansion and it?s currently available for daily tours as is also open for rental for weddings and other special events.
