The Adair County Historical Society Museum houses a collection of history artifacts, documents, photographs, and narratives that provide information and background on the history of the area. It is operated by the Adair County Historical Society, a non-profit institution and organization founded in 1976, aiming to "collect and preserve history of Adair County."

Aside from the collections, the Museum also houses the Adair Historian publications that can be accessed by the residents, visitors, and those who simply want to look back and search for particular happenings within the area. For convenience, it also provides a list of articles that have been published by the Adair County Historical Society starting from 1998 up to 2009. Visitors are also allowed to make copies at a fee per page. This collection complements those that can be found in the library, which occupies the same building.

The Museum is open every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Adair County Historical Society also offers research and educational programs, educational tours, and other activities for residents and visitors.
