The museum is home to the works of the 1800s artist George Caleb Bingham along with his own home restored and refurnished to make the visitors feel as if they have transported as to when he was still alive. You will also find here an ancient 1834 tavern, the historical courthouse, the stone jail, and the home of the town doctor.
