The Auto World Museum in Missouri features exhibits and collection that contain exhibits and collections of memorabilia and other attractions that depict the history of automobiles.

The Museum opened to the public on October 1, 1996 occupying a building called “old K-Mart building.” It was the product of William E. Backer’s desire of having a museum to house and display his lifelong passion towards vintage cars. Mr. Backer has been collecting vintage cars since the mid 1950’s. He first bought a 1924 Canadian Dodge touring car. The collection began to grow in the 1990’s and it needed to be housed in a more appropriate venue.

The Museum not only displayed the collection of Mr. Backer, it also served as a documentation of the innovation in automobiles since some of the cars in it were the first examples of certain engineering milestones.

Today, the Auto World Museum boasts of 80 vehicles from its larger collection. A certain part of the Museum was also remodeled, making it an impressive and suitable venue for special events.
