The Big Oak Tree State Park is a state park, recreation area, and natural area in East Prairie, Missouri. It boasts of providing visitors a peek to Missouri in the way the explorers first saw it centuries ago.

Established in 1937, the Big Oak Tree State Park was created as a means to preserve some of the largest trees in the country in a farmland region. It is actually a ?rare untouched wet-mesic bottomland hardwood forest found in the Mississippi Alluvial Plain, making it a very noteworthy site. Thanks to this, the park was designated as a National Natural Landmark in May 1986.

Visitors of the Big Oak Tree State Park can enjoy hiking, picnicking, fishing, and boating within its more than one thousand acres? worth of space. There are also interpretive programs offered at the site.
