The Christ Church Cathedral was built around 1859 to 1867 in St. Louis, Missouri. It is known for its Gothic revival structure, which conveyed a message that the St. Louis is significant in the United States? westward expansion.

This religious center was designed by the popular Leopold Eidlitz. The structure is generally made of Illinois sandstone and Indiana limestone. However, the climate proves to be a challenge in keeping the sandstone intact. In fact, a small plant is already growing just above the entrance of the church. Luckily, appropriate maintenance and upkeep are continuously taking place in Christ Church Cathedral to ensure that the structure will stay intact for a good long time.

Christ Church Cathedral became a National Historic Landmark in 1994.
