The Current River State Park is a state park and recreation area in Shannon, Missouri. It is one of the newest additions to the Missouri state parks system, being only founded in 2008.

Still currently under development, the Current River State Park is one park that is very promising in terms of natural scenery and recreational opportunities. The site is also filled with historic structures (most of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places), once being the corporate retreat venue of Alton, Illinois’ Alton Box Company (1930s to 1950s). The site will feature the company’s structures and other facilities amongst a rugged Ozark landscape.

Information as to when the park will be officially opened is still not available. It was set to open in 2010, though.
