The Forest Park is the pride and joy of St. Louis, Missouri. It is one of the oldest urban parks in the United States. This historic park, which opened in 1876, hosted the ?World?s Fair? in 1904. At 1,293 acres, Forest Park is one of the largest landscaped parks in the world. It easily tops New York?s Central Park in terms of area.

The Forest Park is home to St. Louis major cultural institutions, such as the Zoological Park, Art Museum, McDonnell Planetarium, History Museum, Muny Opera, and Science Center. The park also serves as major recreational hub in the city. About 12 million yearly visitors go to the park, where they can enjoy boating, fishing, ice skating, jogging and biking. Visitors can also play sports like golf, tennis, cycling and handball. Other attractions include the Jewel Box greenhouse, Great Balloon Race and wine tasting events.
