Jesse James was one of American Wild West’s earliest “celebrities”. He was America’s foremost outlaw, Civil War figure, bank robber, gang leader, and public enemy number one. And he called Missouri his home.

If you are fan of the legendary outlaw, or simply fascinated with tales from the Wild West era, you can drop by his home at Kearney, Missouri. His farm and homestead-turned museum is open to the public. The museum contains one of the largest collections of James artifacts. As part of the guided tour, visitors can learn about the life of Jesse and his brother Frank James. Visitors can also check the books, memorabilia and souvenirs, which are sold at the museum store. The site around the museum also contains his original grave, his family home and a slave cabin.
