The Kansas City Museum is known as the biggest and oldest museum of regional and local history in the City of Kansas, Missouri. It is also famous by the name “R.A. Long House” after its previous owner, Mr. Robert A. Long. He was a businessman who had the 25,000 square feet and 6-Corinthian columned home built in 1908 for his family. This is where they lived until his death in 1934. It was then given to the Kansas City Museum Association by his daughters in 1939. After some renovations, it was opened to the public as a museum and became popular during the 50s and 60s for its life-size stuffed animal dioramas.

Today, the Kansas City Museum is still open to visitors who want to learn about natural science and history. Visitors may also enjoy a stars and galaxy show inside its 50-seater planetarium.
