The Lewis and Clark State Park is a state park and recreation area in Rushville, Missouri. It is located 20 miles outside St. Joseph, off the US Highway 59.
Sitting on the shores of Sugar Lake, the Lewis and Clark State Park is historically significant for its believed association with Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. According to some historians, the famous expedition leaders stopped at the site. It is believed to be where the Gosling Lake is located.
Today, the Lewis and Clark State Park is said to be an excellent base when sightseeing around St. Joseph, Missouri. With the great amount of attractions in the area, stopping by at this beautiful park first is highly recommended by many.
