Originally built for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition and the Summer Olympics of 1904, the Washington University Hilltop Campus Historic District is a series of buildings that are now under the use and care of the Washington University. Almost half of the over fifty structures in the district are made in Collegiate Gothic architecture, providing stunning and classic aesthetic to the area.

A number of the buildings on the Washington University Hilltop Campus Historic District is built during the first years of the 20th century. However, a lot has just been added after 1904, but most of them are considered as compatible additions.

Declared as a National Historic Landmark in 1987, the Washington University Hilltop Campus is still operated by the educational institution today.
