Built in 1910 by the Glacier Park Hotel Company under the Great Northern Railway?s campaign to increase tourism in the area and attract more passengers, the Belton Chalets is a historic hotel complex in West Glacier, Montana. It was the trendsetter for other buildings constructed by the company, with its stunning Swiss Chalet style architecture.
Sadly, the Belton Chalets did not fare well in terms of attracting guests and generating profits, mostly due to its remote location. This forced the company to sell the chalet in 1946. The main building was left unused and the dining hall was only intermittently operated as a caf? and bar.
In 1997, it was procured by its current owners who operate the Belton Chalets today as a hotel after restoring the whole complex.
