The Children's Museum of Northeast Montana is a non-profit organization that began as a dream for local parents as they were searching for a fun, safe indoor place to take their children. The group created a Board, collaborated ideas, crafted a plan and started to initiate a fund-raising campaign. A year and three months later in March of 2006, the Children's Museum of Northeast Montana opened its doors to the public.
The Children's Museum of Northeast Montana is a hands-on museum for children, their friends and even families. Situated along the high-line in Glasgow, Montana, the museum is a fun place where children can learn, play and mingle with their peers. It provides an atmosphere that stimulates creativity, exploration, discovery and empowers children with knowledge through a fun and entertaining environment. Children and their families will be immersed in a venue that encompasses the creative arts, culture and sciences. The museum also caters to occasions like children?s birthday parties and other special events with their friends and loved ones.
The Children's Museum of Northeast Montana is managed and governed by a volunteer board of directors. The board's functions and responsibilities are to guarantee that the museum operates according to its mission statement and continues to grow in a vibrant and positive direction. Currently, the museum has eight board members that converge on a monthly basis.
The Children's Museum of Northeast Montana has more than 12 exhibits covering the sciences, the arts, and exploring other cultures. It also features a huge selection of activities that range from space exploration, the human anatomy, and special presentations about the prehistoric dinosaurs and ancient excavation sites, among many other entertaining and informative activities.
