A National Historic Landmark that focuses on the site’s significance in the world of art, the CM Russell Museum Complex can be seen as the home of one of the largest collections of artworks by Western artists. The CM Russell Museum holds the most artworks by Charles M. Russell in the world and also features the home that he built in the year 1900, and his log cabin studio that was constructed in 1903.

The CM Russell Museum Complex is basically a tribute to Russell’s works and legacy. It was created in 1953 when Josephine Trigg gave a large family collection to the city of Great Falls and a condition that the items should be housed in a museum. From then, it started to develop. Today, aside from Russell’s works, it also features pieces by other Western artists and the Frederic G. Renner library that is focused on studies about Russell.
