A local festivity started in the early 1990s; the Garden City Brewfest is where a beer enthusiast should be every first Sunday of May. This event is annually hosted by the Missoula Downtown association and features the products of the local breweries.

Every year, up to 50 kegs are tapped by noon during the day of the Garden City Brewfest. Some of which offer beer, some wine. Each visitor only needs to pay a $5 for a wristband, a 7-ounce commemorative mug, and two tokens that are designed for getting a glass of beer or wine. Designated drivers also get free soda all throughout the day.

Aside from the drinks, visitors can also enjoy the local food items provided by various restaurants that cater for the Garden City Brewfest.
