The International Wildlife Film Festival is an annual film event in Missoula, Montana. It is best noted for being the “first regular ongoing festival devoted solely to wildlife films”.
According to experts, the International Wildlife Film Festival has ushered in the acceptance of the concept of wildlife films being a distinct motion picture genre. The event attracts hundreds of wildlife film makers, scientists, producers, enthusiasts, and conservation leaders and rakes in up to 12,000 people every year.
Founded in 1977 by Dr. Charles Jonkel, the International Wildlife Film Festival is now one of the most interesting events in the area. Aside from the screenings and the juried event, the celebrations also include several other events like seminars, panel discussions, workshops, and children’s events.
