The Madison Buffalo Jump State Park is a state park in Bozeman, Montana. It is named after the canyon cliff that was used by the Native Americans for buffalo jump, an efficient way to slaughter herds of bison. It is done by stampeding herds of bison over the cliff so they can be easily killed without too much fuss.

The Madison Buffalo Jump State Park is a day use-only park. This means that it can?t be used for camping. It is ideal for hiking, picnicking, and wildlife observation, however.

Offering about 638 acres of land area, the Madison Buffalo Jump State Park was established primarily to protect the jump site. Not much has changed on the site as there are still tons of bison bones buried and scattered at the base of the cliffs. Archaeologists have also found remains of some tipi villages in the area as well.
