The Montana Governor?s Residence is an official government structure in Helena, Montana. It is commonly referred to as the ?new? Governor?s residence, replacing the 1888 structure located at 304 North Ewing Street.

The Montana Governor?s Residence was completed in 1959 as a replacement of the older structure. Its total costs raked up to $347,000, which is equivalent to $2.3 million today. Its construction has experienced a great number of setbacks and was even threatened to be just used as a highway patrol headquarters at one point.

Today, the Montana Governor?s Residence is the official home of the state governors and their family. It was designed by Chandler C. Cohagen of Billings and decorated and furnished by Shirley Kemp Gannon. Its lot was donated by CF Mueller.
