The O?Fallon Historical Museum offers its visitors an opportunity to understand the history of South-eastern Montana and Baker Montana. It was founded in 1908 in open range cattle country.

Visitors can see the kind of life there was in the area using a tar paper homestead house, Lambert house, and the Duffield homestead house, all containing items that were used during the 1900?s. Farm equipment and photos showing Baker?s changes over time also enhance one?s understanding of the site?s history.

The main building used to be the Fallon County Jail built in 1916. It is now included in the National Register of Historic Places as it houses military artifacts from World War I and II service men. The building also contains the main attraction, Steer Montana, a Roan Polled Shorthorn Breed born on March 23, 1923.

Local rancher Mr. Jack Guth used Steer Montana in travelling shows covering different state fairs, carnivals, and stock shows in Minnesota, Arizona, Los Angeles, and Wisconsin. He is the largest bovine animal in the world even today.
