Completed in 1985, overlooking the city of Butte, Montana on top of the Continental Divide, is the Our Lady of the Rockies. This 90-foot statue of the Virgin Mary is the largest of its sort in all of the US.

The Our Lady of the Rockies was built in honor of women everywhere. It was made out of various donated materials, and took six years to complete. The construction of the statue was also a way to boost the locals? spirits, as the town had to face an economic issue with the closing down of the copper mines.

To get to the statue, people need to take a bus up the mountains, which usually takes up to 3 hours. However, plans of making a tram are also on the way.
