The Polson-Flathead Historical Museum focuses on the pioneers and homesteaders who first inhabited the Mission Valley and Flathead Lake. Through its real-life exhibits, it enables its visitors to view the progress and development of the area over the years.

The museum’s collections include items and artifacts that have been contributed by generous area residents and descendants of pioneers. It also features the Flathead Monster, the Trading Post, which depicts the shopping experience in the region in the 1880’s. It also gives the visitors the chance to see and marvel at the different stagecoaches and buggies that were used by the passenger in going in and out of the Valley. The Museum also houses a true-to-life kitchen from the region’s early days.
