Founded in 1984 by Charlie Decker, Dan Bull, and Bob and Bill Munson, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation or RMEF is a conservationist organization that aims to ensure the future of elk and other wildlife, as well as their natural habitats. They take actions to conserve and restore these habitats, and educate the public about conservation and ethics and values of hunting among many others. They have actually done a great job, saving over 6 million acres of habitats.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation center found in Montana features a wide array of exhibits and information about elks and their habitats. They also have an outdoor nature trail where visitors can stroll through, enjoying the scenery and maybe even ponder about the lessons that the foundation offers.
