A contributing property to the Great Northern Railway Buildings National Historic Landmark District, the Sperry Chalet is a 1914 structure that is one of the last two existing backcountry chalets in Glacier National Park. It was initially owned by the Great Northern Railway under its Glacier Park Hotel Company group.
Sperry Chalet is actually located in a challenging area in the Glacier National Park. It can only be reached through hiking or horseback riding. The Sperry Trail, one of the paths that lead to the hotel, requires visitors to climb 3200 feet to get to the place. The other one, the Gunsight Trail, takes 9 hours of hiking.
The Sperry Chalet still operates as a hotel. Its fees include breakfast to dinner meals.
