The Tizer Botanic Gardens & Arboretum is a park and living museum in Jefferson City, Montana. Like many gardens in the country, this one started out as a simple gardening project of a couple, which managed to be so enticing that the owners were finally forced to open the site to the project.

The Tizer Botanic Gardens & Arboretum started in 1997. The couple Richard Krott and Belva Lotzer purchased a small lot in the area and began gardening. Krott got into it as a form of stress relief while recovering from cancer. Their garden grew as time goes by and attracted strangers to it. Soon enough, they had to open the site on weekends, and eventually regularly. From the 200 visitors from their first year, the 6 acre garden now receives at least 15,000 visitors per year.
