The Washoe Theatre is a notable venue for a good number of reasons. On the top of the list is the fact that its building is the last theatre to be ever constructed in the Nuevo Deco style. It was finished in 1936 following the design of B. Marcus Priteca, a well known Seattle architect. This extravagant venue was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 for its architecture, and the Smithsonian Institute ranked it fifth in overall tally for the same reason.

The interiors of the Washoe Theatre are equally notable. Designed by the Hollywood theatre designer, Nat Smythe, it was adorned with various items like copper, silk curtains, etched glass, and carved rams that make it stunning and spectacular.
