The Whitefish Museum is a local history museum in Whitefish, Montana. It tells of the colorful past and heritage of the Whitefish area.

Housed in the historic 1927 Great Northern depot in the very heart of Whitefish, the Whitefish Museum is mostly focused on the area?s mining and railroad history. It is run and operated by the Stumptown Historical Society, which was formed in 1982 to preserve the history of Whitefish and the Flathead Valley.

They have acquired the Whitefish Railway Depot in 1990 and quickly restored and transformed it into the museum that people know today.

Admission to the Whitefish Museum is free and it is open year round on Mondays through Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. Self-guided tours are available, although, there are always knowledgeable staff present to answer questions.
