Nebraska?s Latino roots are collected, documented and displayed at the El Museo Latino in Omaha, Nebraska. This cultural center and museum features Latino and Hispanic art, history, and culture via its extensive collections and activities. This is the first Latino history museum and cultural center in the Midwest. This brick-and-tile building was a former Old Polish Home. The museum moved here in 1997 after its establishment in 1993.

Aside from art exhibits, there are also educational lectures for all levels, from kids to adults. This educational tour includes film showing, lectures, slide presentations, workshops, art classes, gallery tours, dance classes, and interactive demonstrations. Visitors can also partake at the annual almuerzo (breakfast) held during Cinco de Mayo, and a luscious banquet during Spanish Heritage Month. The El Museo Latino also serves center for Latino Studies in the Midwest.
