The George Norris State Historic Site is located in the city of McCook and is a restored house of Senator George Norris. He was also the founder of the Tennessee Valley Authority. Hence, you can expect numerous mementos and ancient furniture items on display taken from the entire lifetime of Norris. It was built in 1899 and was recognized as a historical landmark in 1967.

It is now being owned by the Nebraska State Historical Society since 1968. The former Senator was known to be one of the most independent politicians in the American public life and he has represented the state of Nebraska for almost 40 years in the US Congress. In total, he served the House of Representative for a total of 10 years.
