The Willa Cather House in Red Cloud, Nebraska is the Pulitzer Prize winning author?s home from 1883, when she was 9 years old, to 1904. The area is believed to have helped shape her as a person and an artist, with most of her works deriving inspiration from the town and the prairie home.

Also known as the Willa Cather Childhood Home, the Willa Cather House is a one story residence with an attic. It is composed of 9 rooms, including the bedroom of Cather and the hired girl?s room which are both found in the attic.

The house was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1971. It is also a part of the Willa Cather State Historic Site, along with other seven structures in the area.
