One of the seven National Historic Landmarks in the state of Nevada, the Fort Churchill State Historic Park is a 4,461 acre Nevada State park in Lyon County, Nevada. This historic landmark was constructed in 1861 to give protection for early settlers and once an active U.S. Army fort and has been declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961.

In the present day, the Fort Churchill now has facilities and views that visitors can enjoy. The visitor center displays various artifacts that share the fort?s history which will surely give them a brief look on why it is considered a historical landmark. Nearby the Fort is Buckland Station, a supply center and a former hotel that was constructed in 1870. Anyone can also enjoy hiking, camping and canoeing in the fort.
