The Lake Mansion was home to the founders of Reno, Jane Lake, and Myron Lake. Built in 1877 by W.J. Marsh, it was purchased by Myron in 1879. Its structure, consisting of a hipped roof and veranda, makes it a fine example of an Italianate style home. The mansion features an impressive etched glass in the doorway, period furnishings, and carved woodwork on its sliding doors and in its front parlor.

Today, the mansion remains to be protected as donations, awards, and grants are regularly given to it. It welcomes historians, preservationists, artists, and other visitors who want to view the art gallery and read about Reno?s history. The mansion also houses the Very Special Arts of Nevada or VSA and a gift shop.
