Steampunk fans, railroad locomotive enthusiasts and history buffs will find their interests in the same ?track? when they visit the Nevada Northern Railway Museum in Ely, Nevada. The museum is both a tribute and home to the history and legacy of the Nevada Northern railway during the turn of the 19th century. The once great mining railway that carried millions of tons of copper ores from Ely is now a proud railroad museum operated by the White Pine Historical Railroad Foundation.

The museum features an extensive collection of railroad-related stuff. The progress of railroad technology is chronicled via its locomotive displays, such as three genuine steam locomotives used during the railway?s heydays; several diesel-electric locomotives; and one electric locomotive. The collection also features several equipments and freight and passenger rail cars. The museum?s other activities include steam-powered trips, history symposium and hand car races.
