If you are visiting Reno Nevada for the first time, then you might probably notice the Reno Arch in Virginia Street. However, don’t mistake this one for another flashy street sign. The arch is in fact one of the most popular landmarks this side of Nevada.

The Reno Arch was actually erected to promote the Reno Transcontinental Highway Exposition in 1927. After the exposition, the street sign has become quite popular that many people in the city decided to keep it. A new slogan for the arch was also commissioned.

Today, a lot of people who have their wedding in Reno would have their pictures taken under the Arch as a souvenir. It has also been prominently features in films set in the city of Reno.
