A small group of citizen from Sparks met up to from a non-profit organization for the sake of preserving the history of Sparks, Nevada for the future generations. For 26 years, the museum has never failed to continue its primary goals by researching and recording the history of the town before it even became a chartered city.

The museum continues its missions through the generous donations by people in support of the Sparks Heritage Museum?s goals. The museum not only collects, preserve and displays authentic artifacts but the museum also offers its services to local schools through their guided tours and special outreach programs like ?Color Me Sparks.

The Sparks Heritage Museum was declared in the list of National Register of Historic Places in 1992, giving its pride as the oldest government structure in the city of Sparks. With its unique design, the museums red tiles roof and dramatic semi-circular arched entry the building is truly an example of a Mediterranean Revival style of architecture. Everyone is welcome to visit the Sparks Heritage Museum.
