The Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park is located right in the mountain range of Egan that is about 18 miles in the southern side of Ely. This is an amazing looking park that is usually known for its historic charcoal ovens that take the shape of beehives. The park is open to offering a lot of opportunities for recreational activities.

It has numerous trails meant for hiking, ATV riding and of course the classic activity of mountain biking. It is very rich in wildlife viewing opportunities as well with the Willow Creek as one of its main features. It is a tiny stream that provides an enjoyable fishing experience for everyone. It also has complete facilities to cater to those visitors who prefer camping and picnicking.
