Originally owned by Daniel Webster’s father in the early 1800s, the Daniel Webster Family Home is a fine example of an antebellum homestead property. It has served the statesman, Daniel Webster, and his family for a good long time, primarily as a farm and residence.
Also known as The Elms, the Daniel Webster Family Home has been listed as a threatened historic site for quite some time. However, it was bought in 2008 by the Webster Place Recovery Center, a non-profit organization that helps people with addiction problems to recover.
Today, the Daniel Webster Family Home serves as the Webster Place. It offers a wide variety of programs in tackling and defeating addiction, and creating a good and appropriate environment for recovery.
