The Fort Stark Historic Site is a historic area and state park in New Castle, New Hampshire. The area has been around for a couple of centuries now, located in what was once known as Jerry?s Point.
The Fort Stark Historic Site protects the site where Fort Stark once stood. It was first fortified around the early to mid 1800s. It was named after John Stark, a commander at the 1777 Battle of Bennington to the New Hampshire forces. The site was used repeatedly all throughout the 19th century up until the Second World War.
Today, the Fort Stark Historic Site is open year round for historic tours and other outdoor recreation activities. It is unstaffed, though, like many other New Hampshire state parks.
