The Hopkinton Historical Society Museum is located in the William H. Long Memorial Building and it houses the society’s collection of journals, music scores, books, maps, diaries, and other artifacts.

The Hopkinton Historical Society was founded by three Hopkinton residents as the Philomathic Club in 1859. It started as a literary discussion group, which was incorporated in 1875 under its present name. In 1890, the Society received the Long Memorial Building as a gift. It is now on the National Register of Historic Places.

Through the Museum, the society is able to give the Hopkinton community access to its collection. It provides exhibits, programs, tours, and lectures that are related to the history of the city and of the state. It also offers school tours as well as projects for young visitors. The Museum holds special events like art shows as well. It also house publications that can be used as references when it comes to local and state interest as well as historical and genealogical information.

The Museum houses its own museum store, which offers special gift items and souvenirs.
