Live in the great outdoors at the Moose Brook State Park in Coos County, New Hampshire. Aside from possessing a wealth of scenic natural resources, this state park is also rich with history. This state park was established in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during the 1930s Great. Established in 1933, the CCC was a work relief program for young unemployed men as a way to combat unemployment.
The Moose Brook State Park is considered to be a prime example of a CCC-designed project. The park facilities such as camping sites and hiking trails were built by CCC using natural materials available in the area. Log cabins were constructed out of logs and rocks. Many of the original park offices are still in use today.
Designed specifically as a recreational site, visitors can enjoy several outdoor activities such as camping, picnicking, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, and birdwatching.
